Following the formal opening ceremonies, Carolyn Whitney from the Chatham Food Pantry spoke to the membership. She thanked us for our past support and hoped that we might continue in the future.
The Adjutant & Finance
Officer’s reports were given and approved without addition or correction.
The Service Officer reported
the following
Dan Smith’s father is doing better; Joe Gragg’s wife had another set back in health
Bill Barnhill’s wife is recovering from surgery &
doing well, Joe Ori’s
mother in law is in the hospital
Jim Sphroer’s mother has passed
Dan Smith of the Building
Committee fielded questions from the membership about the new Post.
Les Morgan spoke on the
outcome of the Open House in Sept & read a letter of appreciation from
Clarence Marron.
Next was the subject of the
revision to the Constitution & By Laws. The proposed changes were presented to the
membership at the regular September meeting.
As per procedure the changes were brought up at the November meeting. A motion was made by Joe Ori & 2nd
by Bill Barnhill to accept the Const & By Laws as
presented. After asking the membership
if there was any discussion and receiving none the motion passed without any desenting votes.
Les Morgan reported that the
Boy Scout Troop would NOT need the use of the Post after all.
Next was the Hall Rental
Agreement.
The membership was informed
that there would be only member and non-member rates they are as follows.
Non-Member
Sunday through Thursday $300.00, Friday and Saturday
$400.00
Member
Sunday through Thursday $60.00, Friday and Saturday
$150.00
It was again stated that
these rates are merely a starting point subject to change as needed.
A motion was made by Gary Ori
& 2nd by Les Morgan to accept these rates. Motion passed with no desenting
votes.
The smoking policy was the next
on the agenda.
Joe Ori made a motion & 2nd
by John Haines that the Post (Hall) when rented will be NON
SMOKING.
Motion Passed with no desenting votes.
Les Morgan made a motion 7 2nd by Jim Spohrer to
make the regular monthly meetings NON SMOKING.
Motion passed with one (1) desenting vote.
Per a request for help the
Post will host a Pancake breakfast on 11-21-04 headed up by Les Morgan.
Tom Bartolomucci
won the $22.00 50/50.
